It’s an Improv Singing 301 Graduation Showcase!

Ah, December: The smell of Christmas, I’m no longer angry about the decorations that have been up since before Halloween, and the Merlin Works Improv at the ZACH Second Sunday Comedy Showcase Improv Singing 301 Graduation!

Joining our singing graduates are the Improv Singing 201 students warming everyone up with a musical recital filled with wonder and cheer.

The Known Wizards will put the finishing touches on this last show of the year with a magical improvised narrative.

Come by the Kleberg stage (1421 W. Riverside Dr.) on December 10th for some fun with short-form, warm-up games during the FREE Improv Jam beginning at 6:30 PM. Also, enjoy refreshing beverages and delicious snacks available in the lobby.

Then at 8:00 PM, the main event:

  • Improv Singing 201 Recital – A preview performance of ur up-and-coming singers!
  • Improv Singing 301 graduation — The graduating singing class perform a musical made up on the spot!
  • Merlin Works faculty troupe The Known Wizards rounds out the evening with spontaneous scenes, hilarious games, surprisingly good songs, and fantastic stories all made up on the spot. You say it, they play it—like magic!

Karina Dominguez is the registrar and assistant to the Dean of Merlin Works Institute of Improvisation. She graduated from the Merlin Works program in December 2011 with three performances of "The Amazing Improvised Race." She is a full-time actor with commercial credits such as Burger King, Ford, Totino's, H-E-B and various departments for the State of Texas. She was last seen in the opening episode of the second season of "American Crime", and as the welcome video ranger in the second season of HBO's "The Leftovers", and as Helah in the first season of "The Chosen". She also performs on-stage in various Austin, TX plays including for Capital T Theatre, The Vortex, Vestige Group, Pollyanna Theater among others.
