Catching Up . . .

What can I say? It’s been a while. The excuses: I’ve been working on a whole new website, I got married in May, I’ve been teaching a lot, and I’ve been generally lame and procrastinatory.

I’ll try and give some broad updates:

In April, GGG put on the wildly successful LAFF: Ladies Are Funny Festival We got a great writeup in the XLent

In May, I got married to my boyfriend of six years, Jonathan Bownds. We went to Isla Mujeres Mexico with 35 of our closest friends and family and had an amazing time. We came home with some great memories and some great pictures.

In June, Get Up put on a run of shows at the new Salvage Vanguard Theatre called Two Two: A pas de deux (de deux!) of comedy duos. Each night we paired with another two-person troupe. We got a great review in the Chronicle and a nice mention in the Austinist.

In July, Girls Girls Girls is performing the second annual Boys of Summer, with a different guest boy each week. To promote the run the Girls performed Thursday July 5 at First Thursday at Guero’s and improvised songs live on the radio on KOOP with Slappy Pinchbottom’s Odd Preoccupation

So far this summer I’ve been busy teaching all sorts of people from summer camps to restaurant staff and performing private shows for camp staffers, weddings, and on the UT Campus for Fine Arts week.

Looking ahead, I can’t wait for the best week of improv all year, The Out of Bounds Improv Festival and Miniature Golf Tournament. I’ve been co-ordinating all the workshops and I’m excited about the amazing talent from LA to NY that we are bringing in for this festival. See you Labor Day Weekend at The Hideout!
