An interesting article in the NYTIMES about the biological foundations of laughter.
The headline reads:
What’s So Funny? Well, Maybe Nothing
Like any comedian knows, a lot of it has to do with who is in the room. The article’s premise is that laughter is a social tool used to get along and show you are not a threat. In studies they found people laughed more at jokes told by people who were dominant or in authority.
Maybe I should study this instead of improv. 😉
