With some other work finally completed, I’ve been able to start focusing on plans for the future. Every year I like to travel somewhere for improv training. I’ve been to the Loose Moose Summer School in Calgary, The BATS Summer School in San Francisco, Story Theatre Summer Workshop with Paul Sills in Wisconsin, The Life Game Workshop with Keith in Banff, and I’m looking in to where to study next. I wasn’t finding the right thing to fit my interests, budget and schedule, but then I remembered the Applied Improvisation Network Conference. It’s for people like me who use improv for all sorts of other things like corporate training, community building, or therapy. Plus it’s in New York this year, so there’s always so much to learn there. I’m hoping I’ll be able to take a lot from this conference that I can directly use in Merlin-Works programming.
